Sweet Irish wedding at Villa Scarpariello
Orlaigh and Alan are a beautiful young couple from Ireland who chose to celebrate their wedding at Villa Scarpariello. It is well known that Irish people are warm and friendly, and the two of them were no exception. We immediately empathize from the first time we got in touch, which was exactly two years before the wedding, when they were looking for a wedding photographer. One year later, they came to Amalfi Coast to get everything ready for the big day and to choose the venue for the party, so we had a chance to meet up. It was so nice to get to know such a sweet couple. We had a nice chat, and soon I realized that I would have been a witness of a very romantic wedding.
A wedding at romantic Villa Scarpariello full of emotions
Finally the long awaited day arrived. Firstly, I showed up at the villa well in advance to capture the excitement of the families and the couple while getting ready. The mood was thrilling and I could feel love in the air, and so I was able to capture unique moments, such as smiles, hugs, and tears of joy.
While getting ready, bride and groom exchanged a gift with each other. One of the bridesmaids showed up in the room and gave the bride a gift from the groom. She was surprised, and it was a very touching moment. Soon after, the same happened while the groom was ready to leave for the church. The bride sent a printed album with photographs of her. Judging by his face, that was a very welcome gift.
A memorable and inspiring day
The wedding celebration was held in the church of San Gennaro. The inside was carefully decorated with floral arrangements all around. Also, the light beams coming from the stained glass windows created a fairytale mood. Most of all, the celebration was so heart-felt.
After the ceremony we went to Amalfi for the photo shoot. It was fun walking around the crowded streets of the town. They didn’t seem to care about the crowd at all, since they were too engrossed in their love dream. As a result, I could capture the true essence of the couple.
As a wedding photographer in Amalfi Coast, I know the area intimately, therefore I suggested to go for a walk to the pier at sunset and take advantage of the gorgeous view with the town in the background. After that, we went to the fiord in Praiano for some romantic couple portraits.
An intimate wedding reception
The wedding reception took place at Villa Scarpariello Relais, a chic historic villa perched on a cliff overlooking the sea. The venue was perfect for the type of wedding they wanted — intimate and romantic. It was an open-air dinner, with no dance party, but many touching speeches and a first slow dance of the bride and groom.
Watching an eventful day unfold just so naturally, yet perfectly at the same time, has been quite inspiring.
I have to tell you how blown away I am with the photographs, they are absolutely perfect. You managed to capture everything we asked for on the day. They are full of fun, emotion and some are simply beautiful. I feel like laughing and crying (happy tears!) and so many happy emotions as I look through them. I feel like you captured the true us. I honestly could not be happier. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, you have truly made it possible for us to relive the day in our minds and hearts forever!
