Dream Outdoor Wedding in a Historic Tuscan Town – Olivia & Allister
In the historic heart of Capalbio—a quiet gem in southern Tuscany—Olivia and Allister invited me to document their wedding day with one simple request: no poses. No planned moments. Just the day, as it was. I couldn’t have asked for a better brief.
Capalbio, with its narrow stone alleys and sun-soaked walls, was more than a setting. It was part of the story. Olivia has roots there, and the connection to the place was woven into every detail. Their medieval town wedding in Tuscany felt like a return—intimate, grounded, and deeply personal.
The ceremony took place in the town square, surrounded by friends, family, and centuries of history. Olivia’s mother officiated, which set the tone from the start: emotional, honest, and real. No extravagance. Just a quiet kind of magic that comes from being fully present.
After the ceremony, we made our way through the winding streets to a local restaurant, where long tables stretched across a terrace overlooking the countryside. Wine flowed, stories were shared, and laughter drifted out into the golden Tuscan air.
As the evening turned to night, the celebration continued at Locanda Rossa. The mood shifted from warm and nostalgic to joyful and alive. A DJ set the pace, and the dance floor filled in seconds. It was the perfect contrast to the quiet charm of the village—history met with rhythm and movement.
There was one moment, though, that still stands out to me. Earlier in the day, sunlight spilled across a castle wall—perfect light, perfect texture. I saw the shot immediately but hesitated. Olivia had asked for no posed photos. Still, I asked: “Just one?” She gave me a look—part curious, part amused. “It’s worth it,” I said. She paused… and said yes.
A few days later, she saw the photo and messaged me: “You were totally right. It was really worth it.”
That’s what I love most about this kind of work. It’s about reading the moment, listening, and sometimes gently stepping in when the timing is just right. Especially on days like this—days that speak softly but stay with you.
Olivia and Allister’s medieval town wedding in Tuscany wasn’t about perfect styling or grand gestures. It was about meaning, connection, and presence. And for me, those are the stories that matter most.

Both offer a different glimpse into the magic of getting married in this unforgettable region, and an idea of my work as a Tuscany wedding photographer.
