Through the Lens of a Napoli Wedding Photographer: Celebrating Romantic Love in Wonderful Napoli
Sometimes, weddings remind you not only of a couple’s love story but also of how places themselves become part of the emotion. Photographing Martina and Raf’s wedding in Naples reminded me just how powerful a love story can be—something I felt again weeks later while capturing a wedding at Tabiano Castle in Fidenza, where elegance and emotion came together in a completely different but equally soulful way.
Martina and Raf live in Belgium, but they returned to Napoli—Martina’s hometown—to get married. We connected through the Fearless Photographers community, and from the very beginning, I felt their trust. Martina had followed my work as a Napoli wedding photographer, and her kind words gave me even more motivation to document their day with the care it deserved.
I started the morning with Raf at his hotel. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation—his family and friends buzzing around, full of energy and joy. Afterward, I joined Martina for her preparations. The excitement, the elegance, the emotion—it was all there, and it was contagious.
Their ceremony took place at San Francesco di Paola, the neoclassical cathedral that rises proudly over Piazza del Plebiscito. The scene was grand but never overwhelming. Their vows and ring exchange felt intimate, even in such a monumental space. Drone footage added an unforgettable layer—views of the city from above, like a love letter to Napoli itself.
After the ceremony, we wandered the promenade, eventually reaching Castel dell’Ovo. This is always one of my favorite parts—just walking with the couple, letting the city shape the photos. The light danced beautifully through the narrow streets and along the waterfront. Within an hour, we had captured something honest and romantic.
Then came the reception at San Francesco al Monte, perched above the city. As the sky turned from golden to indigo, we photographed portraits on the terrace with Napoli glowing behind them. The light was low, the challenge was real—but that’s where magic often happens. Those evening shots are some of my favorites from the entire season.
